Capture Sediment Before It Enters The Drainage Network
Sediment Drain GuardsPractical Protection At The Point Of Drainage
Sediment Drain Guards are positioned beneath drainage grates to capture silt, sediment and site debris before they enter the surface-water network. Run-off passes through the geotextile while heavier material settles within the integrated catchment basin, allowing the guard to be inspected, emptied and reused.
The system provides a simple local control for construction sites, highways, industrial estates and quarries. Overflow holes within the catchment basin help maintain flow during periods of heavier rainfall, while the securing loops keep the guard correctly positioned beneath the grate.

Developed For Effective Drain Protection
Murlac Sediment Drain Guards provide simple, effective protection beneath drainage grates. The catchment basin retains sediment and debris, while overflow openings help maintain flow during heavier rainfall.
Integrated Catchment Basin
Retains sediment and debris beneath the grate for controlled removal and disposal.Storm Overflow Openings
Integrated openings provide an additional flow route during periods of heavier rainfall.High-Strength Geotextile
Needle-punched polypropylene fabric combines sediment capture with rapid water passage.Hydrocarbon Absorption
The standard fabric absorbs hydrocarbons, with additional absorbent material available where required.Simple Installation
Securing loops allow the guard to be restrained beneath standard drainage grates.Empty And Reuse
The guard can be removed, emptied and returned to service where its condition allows.Where Sediment Drain Guards Are Used
Drain Guards can provide temporary or longer-term protection wherever surface run-off may carry sediment, debris or pollutants into the drainage network. Product selection and inspection frequency should reflect the drainage arrangement and expected sediment load.

Construction Sites

Highways & Car Parks
Capture sediment entering roadside drains, paved areas and temporary traffic-management zones.

Industrial Estates
Reduce the movement of site debris and pollutants into shared surface-water drainage systems.

Quarries & Aggregate Sites
Manage sediment-laden run-off around processing areas, access roads and material stockpiles.
Manufactured In Britain For Practical Site Use
MANUFACTURED BY MURLACMurlac manufactures Sediment Drain Guards from high-strength, needle-punched non-woven polypropylene geotextile. The guard combines a filtration surface with an integrated catchment basin, securing loops, lifting handles and overflow details within a single reusable unit.
Manufacturing the guards in Britain allows Murlac to control material selection, stitching and finished quality. Three standard sizes are published for common drainage grates, with each model incorporating a 250 × 450 mm catchment basin.
